Cookie Policy

A cookie is a small piece of text a site stores in your browser so it can remember something between one page and the next. Courtsbook uses as few as it can, and every one of them exists to make something work that you asked for.

What we do not do

We set no analytics cookies and no advertising cookies. Courtsbook does not use Google Analytics, or any other measurement product, and there is no advertising network, tracking pixel or third-party script anywhere on this site. Nothing here follows you to another site, and we sell nothing to anybody.

Sponsors on the club feed are sold by your club and shown to everybody at that club alike (see the Privacy Policy). They are not targeted, and no sponsor receives anything about you.

The cookies we do set

All four are what the rules call strictly necessary — they deliver something you requested, so we do not ask permission for them. Turning them off is not something we can offer, because turning them off means the thing they do stops working.

Signing in

Names beginning sb-. Set by Supabase, who provide our sign-in. They are what keeps you signed in as you move around the app. Without them there is no way to stay signed in, so refusing them means refusing to use Courtsbook at all.

Your league

cb.league. Remembers which league you last chose, so the laptop and the phone agree about what you are looking at. It holds a league’s identifier and nothing else. Newer versions of Courtsbook keep this on your account rather than in a cookie, so this one is only read now, never written, and it disappears on its own.

Observing a league

cb_observe. Only ever set if a commissioner has invited you to observe their league and you have chosen a seat to look through. It records which league and which seat, so every page knows to show you that view and to refuse every change. It is cleared the moment you stop observing.

Switching persona

__Host-cb-persona. Only ever set for the Courtsbook account that administers the platform, and only while switched into a demonstration account. It is the way back, it expires after twelve hours, and it is useless to anybody else.

Things kept in your browser that are not cookies

Courtsbook also remembers a few preferences in your browser’s own storage rather than in a cookie. These are never sent to us: whether you have dismissed the cookie notice, which cards you have folded away, which release notes you have already read, and whether you have seen the opening animation this session. Clearing your browser data removes them.

Managing cookies

Your browser can block or delete cookies for any site, including this one. Because all four of ours are strictly necessary, blocking them will stop you signing in rather than making Courtsbook quieter. There is nothing here to opt out of, because there is nothing here that watches you.
