Deleting your account
How to delete your Courtsbook account, and what happens to your league's record when you do.
You can delete your Courtsbook account yourself, at any time, without asking anyone. Last updated 27 August 2026.
In the app
Open Settings from your profile menu and choose Delete account. You will be asked to type DELETE to confirm. It takes effect immediately — there is no waiting period, and nobody reviews or has to approve it.
If you can’t sign in
Email privacy@courtsbook.com from the address or phone number on the account and ask us to delete it. We will confirm it is yours before we act, and we aim to complete it within 30 days.
What is erased
Deleting your account removes, permanently and immediately:
- Your name, email address, phone number and profile photo.
- Your location history from the clubhouse presence feature.
- Your push-notification device registrations.
- Who you follow, and who follows you.
- Private captain’s notes — both the ones you wrote and the ones other captains wrote about you.
- Matches you logged on your own, outside a league.
Your login is revoked at the same time. Nobody can sign in as you afterwards, including us.
What survives, and why
Your league’s record of its own seasons stays. Match results, standings and the scores of games you played are not only about you — they are how your club knows who won last spring, and erasing them would rewrite finished seasons and move other people’s points.
So what remains is a skeleton with no person in it. Where your name used to appear on a past roster or result you become “Former member”, with no contact details, no photo and no way to sign in. If you held a seat — commissioner, captain, or your club’s billing contact — that seat is vacated for your club to refill.
Deleting only some of your data
You do not have to close your account to have data removed. Write to privacy@courtsbook.com and say what you want erased — your photo, your phone number, your location history, your presence opt-in — and we will remove it and leave the rest of your account working.
