Courtsbook is a private league-management app for racquet and paddle clubs. It is rated 13+. Last updated 2 August 2026.

Why 13+

Nothing in Courtsbook is mature content. There is no violence, no sexual content, no profanity from us, no gambling, no alcohol or drug references, and no advertising of any kind. The rating is driven by one thing: members can message each other, and messages are written by people rather than by us.

We set the floor at 13 rather than lower because any app carrying person-to-person messaging should be. It is not because of anything in the app itself.

It is a closed app

There is no public sign-up, no discovery, and no strangers. You get an account because your club invited you, or because you applied to a specific league and its commissioner approved you. You can only see and message people in a league you share at your own club. There are no public profiles, no open chat rooms, and nothing a member posts is visible outside their club.

What members can post

Text messages, photos, emoji reactions, and answers to their team’s polls and events — in team channels, direct messages, and club announcements. Members can also comment on items in the Courtside activity feed. That is the whole of the user-generated content in Courtsbook. Everything else in the app — RSVPs, lineups, scores, standings — is structured data, not free text.

How it is moderated

• Report. Any message or comment can be reported from the message or comment itself, with a reason. Reports go to the club’s commissioner, and we review them within 24 hours.
• Block. Any member can block another. A blocked person’s messages, photos and comments are hidden from you, and they cannot start a conversation with you. Blocks are reversible and you can see every one you have made.
• Remove. Commissioners can remove any message or comment in their club, and resolving a report and removing the content are a single action. You can always remove your own comment, and so can the person whose activity it was posted under.
• Limit who can reach you. Direct messages can be set to anyone at your club, teammates only, or nobody at all.
• A record. Reports, removals and moderation decisions are logged.
• Somewhere above your club. Reports go to your commissioner — so if the concern is your commissioner, write to us directly at support@courtsbook.com. We see every report across every club and we can act without them.

Blocking is personal, not a club sanction: it hides someone from you, and it does not remove them from a roster or a team. Who plays is the club’s decision, not the app’s.

The standard members are held to

Our Terms publish the acceptable-use rules in full — no abuse, harassment, hate, sexual or violent content, no sharing someone else’s private information, no spam. We remove content and suspend accounts that break them, without warning where someone’s safety is involved.

Junior and youth players

Courtsbook is built for adult club leagues and is not designed for children. Our Terms set the floor at 13, anyone applying to a league has to confirm they are 13 or older, and we do not knowingly create accounts for anyone younger. If you believe we hold a child’s information, write to us and we will delete it.

Clubs running junior programmes should keep the parent or guardian as the account holder — they receive the RSVPs and reminders, and they hold the messaging. That keeps a young player’s participation in the league without putting a child into an adult conversation, which is the right arrangement for a club-run programme regardless of what any rating says.

What we never do

No advertising, no in-app purchases, no third-party tracking, no public profiles, no location sharing except an optional match-day presence you switch on yourself, and no contact from anyone outside your club.
