Text messages

Courtsbook is run by Capitol City Data, LLC, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. These terms cover the text messages Courtsbook sends to members of a club that uses it. Last updated 13 August 2026.

What the programme is

Your club’s league needs to know who is playing each week. Courtsbook texts you before your league’s deadline and you reply to say whether you are in or out. That is the whole programme. It exists so that playing in the league never requires installing an app — you can answer from any phone, and your captain does not have to chase you.

What it is not

We never send marketing or promotional messages, and we never text you on behalf of another company. There is no advertising in Courtsbook at all.

How you join

Three ways, and every one of them needs you to say yes yourself. Nothing we do counts as your agreement except something you did.

You text us. The usual way. Someone from your club — the commissioner, your captain, the club pro — tells you what the texts are and asks you to send the word START to our number from your own phone. That message is your consent, and because it comes from your handset there is no chance of the wrong number being signed up.

You sign a form. If you would rather not text, your captain shows you the same wording on a phone or on a printed sheet. You choose yes or no, give your number, and sign. Your captain is a witness to that; they cannot answer it for you.

You open your own link. A page just for you, reached from a link in your weekly reminder email or from a code your captain shows you. Same wording, one tap.

Your club having your number is not you agreeing. A commissioner setting up a league usually already has the roster in a spreadsheet. Until you do one of the three things above, we do not text you at all.

Whichever way you choose, we email you a receipt of exactly what you agreed to, so you have your own copy.

How often

Up to 4 messages a week, and usually 2 — a reminder before your league’s deadline, and a second one if you have not answered. If you play in more than one league at your club, you get one per league. Everything else Courtsbook tells you — play called off, a court moved, a lineup posted — reaches you in the app, not by text.

Courtsbook does not charge you for these messages. Your mobile carrier may, depending on your plan. Message frequency varies.

How to stop

Reply STOP to any message and we will stop texting you immediately. You will get one confirmation that we have, and then nothing further. Replying START turns them back on.

Stopping the texts does not remove you from your league or affect your account in any way. Your captain can still mark you in or out, and you can still answer through the app or the link in your email.

Carriers

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is not supported by every carrier or on every handset.

Your privacy

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Sharing with subcontractors that help us deliver the service — the company that actually sends the message, for instance — is permitted, and only for that purpose. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with anyone else.

Your mobile number and your consent to these messages are used only to run your club’s league, and we never sell either. The full detail is in our privacy policy, and the rest of the service is covered by our terms of service.
